Our History

St. Joseph Catholic School has a rich history that dates back over a century. Founded in 1910 by Fr. Goodwin, the school began with three dedicated nuns from the Ursuline Sisters of Springfield, IL, who taught the first students in a partitioned area at the back of the church. Over the years, the school has expanded and modernized its facilities, continually adapting to meet the needs of its growing community. Significant milestones include:

1926: Dedication of a modern eight-room school community hall.
1955: Addition of a new building intended for a gymnasium but used as a church due to crowded Masses.
2014: Major remodeling projects including a new computer lab, library, and updated classrooms.
2017-2019: Approval and completion of significant school additions and improvements, enhancing accessibility and safety.
